Safety regulations new netting pictures_Page_1_Image_000203

Safety comes as standard, obviously that’s the name of the game, but we can provide a faster, more efficient and cost effective package that allows you to get on with your job with minimum hassle.

We can provide complete peace of mind as FastNets UK only supply and install safety netting systems in accordance with BS/EN 1263 – 1&2: 2002, vertical edge protection to BS/EN 13374:2004 and adhere to the BS 8437: 2005 code of practise for working at height.

All fall protection engineers are fully trained (FASET, CITB, IRATA, CSCS) with a minimum of 3 years experience, therefore we can offer a quality of service difficult to surpass.

Under the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive PPE Regulations and HSG 33, netting, when used as a safety system, should only be installed and monitored by competent personnel. As a minimum, all Fastnets fall protection engineers meet the following criteria

  • FASET Rigging qualification
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme
  • CITB qualified
  • IPAF MEWPS Scissors and boom

In addition, we have a number of specialist staff experienced in vertical edge protection systems, and a number of professional industrial climbers trained up to IRATA level 3:

FastNets UK employs rigorous inspection and maintenance procedures, ensuring all safety nets are maintained to the highest standard. All nets are individually tagged with a unique identification number, and are annually tested in accordance with the BS/EN 1263: 2002 standard to ensure they are fit for purpose.  This forms the basis for the FastNets UK database which records the history and lifespan of each net.

Thorough safety procedures are adhered to throughout each installation, with job specific risk assessments and method statements produced for each individual installation.

On arrival at site FastNets personnel will present a copy of our method statement and risk assessment to the site manager.

When the netting has been rigged, a final net inspection is then carried out before presenting a ‘hand over certificate’ to the site manager confirming completion of all safety net and edge protection rigging. On removal a ‘hand back’ certificate is then issued and signed to confirm safe removal of all netting and associated components.
